Investor Qualifications

Open to United States Citizens

  • The Roots Investment Fund is currently open exclusively to United States citizens and U.S. entities with a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN). 

Minimum Investment Requirement

  • To get started , you can invest as little as $100. 

10% Annual Income or Net Worth Limit (for Natural Persons)

  • For non-accredited investors, your investment should not exceed 10% of your annual income or net worth. This rule is in place by the SEC to ensure that investors do not overcommit their financial resources.

Accredited Investor Status (for Investments Exceeding 10%)

If your investment exceeds the 10% limit of your annual income or net worth, you must qualify as an accredited investor under U.S. securities regulations. Accredited investors must meet specific income or net worth criteria, as defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The criteria include:

  • Income over $200,000 (individually) or $300,000 (with spouse or partner) in each of the prior two years, and reasonably expects the same for the current year
  • Net worth over $1 million, excluding primary residence (individually or with spouse or partner)
