Distributions

As a REIT, we must distribute a minimum of 90% of our taxable income to investors. Roots pays these distributions quarterly, typically within 5-10 business days after each quarter ends. These payments are sourced primarily from rental income generated by our properties and are distributed proportionally based on the amount of units you own.

Distribution Options:

When it comes to receiving your distributions, you have two primary options:

  1. Reinvest Your Distribution:
    1. By choosing this option, you can reinvest your distribution back into the fund. This means that instead of receiving cash, your distribution will be used to purchase additional Roots shares. This is a popular choice for investors who want to compound their investment over time and potentially benefit from the power of compounding returns.
    2. To set up the reinvestment of your distributions, you need to enable the "Re-Invest Distributions" toggle from the "My Investments" page. This ensures that your distribution earnings are automatically reinvested to purchase more shares during each distribution cycle.
  2. Receive Your Distribution as a Cash ACH Transfer:
    1. Alternatively, you can choose to receive your distribution as a cash transfer via ACH (Automated Clearing House). This means that the distribution amount will be sent to your bank account, providing you with access to the funds.
